How to Make  an Einkorn Sourdough Starter

Sourdough starter is a mixture of flour and water that has been fermented so it has active and alive cultures. Making  bread products with sourdough starter means you’ll get all the gut health benefits of that active bacteria!

Einkorn flour is a non-hybridized wheat that is higher in protein, nutrients, and antioxidants while also being lower in gluten. I made a sourdough starter out of it to combine the benefits of sourdough and einkorn flour!

INGREDIENTS

1. Einkorn Flour  2. Filtered water

Making an einkorn sourdough starter from scratch is very easy, but it does require some patience!

The process consists of stirring flour and water together and allowing the mixture to ferment. This must be repeated for several days.

Each day after the first day, you will discard part of the mixture and add more flour and water.

After several days, your sourdough starter will be active and ready for use! You will notice bubbles and it will double in size after being fed.

Now your starter is ready for use! Use it in einkorn waffles, cookies, bread, and more. Swipe up to see all of my sourdough recipes!
