When my husband and I first tried ebikes several months ago, I honestly didn’t think that I would be a huge fan. I’ve always preferred walking over biking, but when I finally tested an ebike, my mind definitely changed! Since then, I’ve tried several different brands and types of ebikes, and have come to really enjoy them and spending afternoons out riding.
Since we’ve become such huge fans of ebikes, when Qlife reached out and offered to send a bike for me to review, I was so excited for the opportunity to put one to the test and see how it compared to other ebikes we’ve used.
Qlife Racer Fat Tire 2.0 Ebike
This Qlife bike specifically gets 1800 watts of peak motor with speeds of up to 35 mph. Now, this speed does have to be ‘unlocked’ as the original speed goes up to 28 mph. To see how to unlock the speed to go up to 35 mph, see this video.
It also has a very strong acceleration and climbing performance, there’s all-terrain capabilities, and it has 20×4.0″ fat tires. These tires provide excellent stability and traction on different terrains, including pavement, gravel, sand, and light off-road trails. It truly has a smooth and comfortable ride with a full suspension system that helps absorbs bumps and vibrations.
The Qlife Racer bike has a long range of up to 60 miles with pedal assist, making it suitable for commuting and longer recreational rides. It also has a high payload capacity, supporting up to 350lbs, making it great for groceries or anything else you want to carry along.
It also comes with an LCD screen, front and rear lights, throttle, and pedal assist settings. It has a 4-6 hour charge time, UL 2849 certified electrical system, and a UL 2271 tested battery, an IP 54 water resistance rating, and a 1-year manufacturers warranty.
What’s Not Included
For comparison, this ebike does not include a folding frame, the capability to handle really rough trails (like a true mountain bike), an extended warranty, a fully assembled bike (you do have to assemble this bike yourself). It also does not come with fenders or a rear rack, but can buy them separately. Other premium bikes may come with a GPS as well, or other add-ons like that.

Price
The first thing I noticed about this ebike is how affordable it is. For someone just getting started in ebike riding, this is a very reasonably priced and beginner-friendly option. This ebike is listed on Qlife’s website for $659, which is an attractive option for someone who may not want to spend a few thousand dollars on big-name brands.
Travel
Ebikes are a great way to get around quickly, especially if you live in an area with hills or trails that you may not want to use a regular bike for. We live in a very hilly area, so taking an ordinary bike up and down the hills is just not feasible. We also have a lot of trails, so having an ebike is really nice because it allows you to ride for miles and help you get home if you get tired or have lots of hills to go back up.
After riding other ebikes and then trying this one, what stands out to me is how fast this ebike accelerates. I’ve tried some other ebikes that are more expensive, and they actually take a little longer to accelerate. Those other models are also much heavier, whereas the Qlife Racer Fat Tire ebike is only about 60lbs.
The Qlife ebike has a really nice suspension system as well, making bumpy trips on the trail a lot more enjoyable and comfortable.
Removable Battery
I love that this ebike has a removable battery and can be charged on or off the ebike. The battery is also tested and certified, read more on the Qlife website for more information about the certifications. The battery is also made in-house, which makes it more trustworthy opposed to a battery that is coming from elsewhere.
Customer Service
We had a little trouble setting up the bike when we received it, so we reached out to Qlife’s customer service and they were extremely nice and helpful. They even send pictures and videos to make the setup process even easier.

Qlife Racer Ebike Cons
You may end up switching seats
One thing about this ebike that I do not care for is the seat that it comes with. I found it to be a little uncomfortable when taking longer rides, so we switched it out for a softer seat. That being said, I’m not a true ‘biker’, so this may not be an issue for you like it was for me!
Setup Process
When we received the ebike in the mail, it was missing a couple of screws in the package and my husband had to pick them up from the local hardware store. Other than that, he put it together pretty quickly and it wasn’t an issue. Later, we did run into a couple of issues with the setup, but the company was super helpful and sent pictures.
Height
The only other con that I had with the bike was the height. I am 5’8″, and my husband is 6’5″, and I could fit comfortably on this ebike, but my husband is a little too tall. He prefers other options of ebikes that are meant more for taller heights.

Weight of the Bike
While this bike is considered light compared to other ebikes out there, some people have said that they don’t like how heavy it is. One thing I will say is that if you’ve never rode an ebike before and get on one for the first time, it’s going to feel super heavy and unfamiliar. Once you get used to riding them though, you won’t even notice that weight anymore and you’ll become comfortable with it.
Riding the bike in different weather conditions
Some people have noted that the bike doesn’t do super well in different weather conditions. I’m a little unsure on this one because I believe that ebikes shouldn’t be out in the rain because of the battery. Here in Washington state, we have a lot of moisture and wetness. While we don’t go riding in the rain, we’ve never had an issue riding on wet trails or through puddles.
The Speed
I’ve seen a few discussions online that some people think the speed is a little too powerful for beginner riders. I can kind of see how that’s true, the bike goes up to 28 mph and you can ‘unlock’ it to go up to 35 mph. However, we don’t ever ride that fast and tend to just leisurely bike around our area. The ebike doesn’t automatically go up to the top speed, you would have to set it to go that fast and there are different settings for pedal assist.

My Final Recommendation
This is a great bike for the value. If you are planning to be a recreational rider and don’t want to spend a few thousand dollars, this Qlife ebike would be a great option. I would not recommend this bike for mountain bikers, I think you would need a bike better meant for that landscape. Also, anyone who is 6 foot or taller, you may need a taller bike for the most comfortable ride. But overall, this is a very good value for your money.
