My second try at this!
If you are an avid reader of the Duvall Homestead blog you may remember my review of the Naked Collagen Peptides formula a few months ago.
Since then, we’ve gone through several orders of that original collagen, and also tried Naked’s new formula, the Advanced Collagen Peptides with Hyaluronic Acid.
You may have heard of hyaluronic acid in the skincare world or in commercials on TV, but did you know you can actually take it internally as well?
Today I’m going to give my honest review of Naked’s Advanced Collage Peptides with Hyaluronic Acid, talk about what’s in it, the pros and cons, health benefits we’ve experienced, and whether or not I recommend it.

How We Use Collagen Peptides in our Family
We make kefir smoothies every morning, and being newly postpartum with our third baby, I’m always looking for the best supplements to support my body’s healing after birth.
I don’t like buying too many supplements though. First off because it’s expensive, and second because I would like to believe that I and my family get most or all of our nutrition from food alone.
However, I’m not blind to the fact that our food, soil, and bodies aren’t perfect, and sometimes supplementation can actually really help.

Being postpartum is a great time to supplement, especially while breastfeeding, assuming you are choosing high-quality supplements. So, that is why I was excited when Naked reached out to try their new Advanced Collagen Peptides.
Since I know that children have the highest levels of collagen, I save this powder for just my and my husband’s morning smoothie.
I am also really excited about the added hyaluronic acid and vitamin C, because we need both of those supplements as well and would take either topically orally anyways.

About the Ingredients
Collagen Peptides. Collagen peptides are hydrolyzed collagen, which is broken down collagen protein so it is easily digested and absorbed. There are both type I and type III collagen in this powder, derived from pasture-raised European bovine cows, as well as the added hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. The formula of all three, according to the website, delivers key amino acids glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline in a research-based ratio to maximize your body’s natural collagen production.
Hyaluronic Acid. is a glycosaminoglycan (a sugar molecule) naturally present in connective tissues, skin, and joints. It holds water and helps tissues remain hydrated and plump. The hyaluronic acid is added to support skin hydration & elasticity.
Vitamin C. is added as a cofactor in collagen synthesis (helps enzymes cross-link collagen) as well as antioxidant protection. Naked states this product includes 90 mg of Vitamin C per serving, which is the recommended daily amount for most adults. When you factor in the cost of vitamin C vitamins, it’s cheaper to just take this powder every day instead of taking a regular protein powder plus a vitamin C supplement.
Nutrition. In each serving, there are:
- 18 g of protein from 20 g of collagen peptides
- 0 g of sugar and carbs
- 70 calories
- 120 mg of hyaluronic acid
It costs $44.49 for 1.3 lb (about 30 servings) or about $1.48 per serving. But I love that you can lower this price by doing autoship, which comes out to just $1.19 per serving.

Pros and Cons of Advanced Collagen Peptides
Pros
- Quick, high-quality protein in the morning. It’s hard to find high quality protein sources and especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or exercising and want to put on good muscle. The Naked Collagen Advanced is made from grass-fed bovine collagen peptides so it’s nice knowing the source of protein is pure.
- No extra ingredients (and nothing artificial!) No artificial anything. No sweeteners, flavors, coloring, etc. There is only collagen peptides, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and sodium.
- Extra vitamins and hydration for fall and winter. Going into the colder months it’s important to get extra vitamin C. I love that this has some in it as well as the nourishing benefits of hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin during colder months.
- Autoship discount. This collagen peptide with hyaluronic acid formula is $44.49 full price, but $35.59 when you sign up for autoship. Then you never run out and you get a nice discount too.
- A great deal. The closest comparison product to this one would be Vital Proteins on Amazon which has a comparable amount of collagen and hyaluronic acid in it. Naked still beats this one in price by a lot!
- Naked Advanced Collagen: 30 servings for $44.49 (this is without autoship discount) is $1.48 per serving (with discount it’s $1.19 per serving)
- Vital Proteins Advanced Collagen: 13 servings for $23.39 is $1.79 per serving.
- So clearly Naked Advanced Collagen has the price benefit here.

Cons
- Doesn’t replace actual food. This is an obvious one to note that no supplement replaces actual food. However this one comes close because it doesn’t have any fillers, artificial flavors or colors, or anything other than the main ingredients. Supplementation can be great but does not replace a regular healthy diet of course.
- No other flavors. This was one of my pros because I don’t like flavored powder supplements in general. But if you do want a naturally flavored advanced collagen formula, Naked does not have one and I haven’t found anyone else online who does. Naked does have many flavors for their regular collagen peptide formula though!

RESULTS / RECOMMENDATION
With the collagen we should see strong hair and nails and with the hyaluronic acid we should expect hydrated, elastic skin and maybe even reduction of wrinkles.
My husband and I both have great skin hydration and good hair growth. However, I have only been using the product for about 5 weeks now and I’m not sure if that is really long enough to prove. I am also about 6 weeks postpartum so I drink a lot of water and have an otherwise really good diet with from scratch food and lots of exercise and time out in the sun.
But, I will say that I notice a difference in how I feel in the morning and throughout the day when I don’t take this supplement. I am more hungry and need more breakfast without it. This is why I do like taking it in a morning smoothie because it starts my day off with some high quality protein.
Finally, I definitely recommend the Advanced Collagen Peptide formula from Naked if you are interested in skin health and join support! With simple, clean ingredients, the protein, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C make this is a great supplement to start your day with.
