Meal Prepping Makes Me Happy!
Today, I am meal prepping some homemade pasta sauce. Although it is not summertime, I am still craving a high-quality sauce. The store-bought sauces aren’t cutting it for me anymore.
Also, something about having 3 kids, I just realized I need to be more efficient in the kitchen. I want to spend my free time in the garden, or working on projects with my daughter, and not always in the kitchen.
I’m using these Bionature cans of whole peeled tomatoes, which work great for the sauce. They are cheap when you get them from Azure Standard (use my link for a discount at checkout or code Alexa10 🙂
This pasta sauce is now on my list of things I always want in my freezer. When I have food in the freezer that I don’t have to prepare, I feel so much less stress, especially in the evenings! So although I know my familiy will go through this rather quickly, I am still so excited to have a backup of pasta sauce now.

Why We Love This Quick & Easy Homemade Pasta Sauce
Family favorite & customizable. This has been in our family for several years now. We don’t tire of it each year because we love the ingredients. You can also customize this homemade sauce by adding red pepper flakes for a spicier kick or other veggies or herbs of choice depending on what you have available.
Can be used on anything. I love that this homemade pasta sauce can go on sourdough pizza, in a homemade lasagna, on a pasta bake, or even for chili mac or beef stew.
Meal preps nicely for the freezer! This homemade sauce is great if you like to meal prep, which is something I have been really getting into lately. Once you start meal prepping, you can’t stop, because having food ready to go in the freezer is just so nice! My favorite thing to do with this pasta sauce recipe is make it at the end of summer time and enjoy it on cold winter nights, dreaming about summer tomatoes 🙂
Wholesome clean ingredients. It is always a priority of mine to cook with wholesome, clean ingredients, as much as possible. I love that this sauce can be sweetened with honey, and contains healthy add-ins like herbs, ACV, carrot, onion, and lots of garlic.

Recipe Tips & Variations
For a creamier version, add some fresh cream and/or butter.
Blend the sauce more for a smoother marinara-like texture, or blend it just a little for a chunky tomato sauce. I lilke to use an immersion blender for this!
If the sauce is too runny or watery for your liking, just simmer it a bit longer to simmer off some of the liquid.
